Criteria

To apply for an account with Moneff, you must meet our eligibility criteria.

When you apply for a Moneff Account as an individual or a freelancer You must be a resident of United Kingdom registered as a sole-trader and not involved in an activity (transactions) that Moneff at its sole discretion regards as prohibited or otherwise restricted;

When you apply for a Moneff Account as a legal entity You must be a United Kingdom registered limited company not involved in an industry (transactions) that Moneff at its sole discretion regards as prohibited or otherwise restricted, further provided that you meet all of the below criteria:

  1. you are directly owned by residents of United Kingdom only and your directors are United Kingdom residents only;
  2. you have up to 50 employees
  3. Your annual turnover is up to £2 million. (with exceptions to Restaurants, Hotels, Cafes, Pubs, Retail shops, Grocery stores, Takeaways, Dry cleaners and other businesses that are carried out through physical presence)

Prohibited transaction Activities (transactions) that Moneff currently regards as prohibited are detailed in the ‘Prohibited Transactions’ section of the Terms and Conditions.

Change of circumstances If your circumstances change and you no more qualify for ‘Basic’ account, we will issue you our ‘Bespoke’ Fees and Commissions. If you do not accept these within the designated term, we retain the right to suspend the Services until the applicable Fees and Commissions are agreed.

Bespoke plan If you do not qualify for ‘Basic’ account, we will send you the ‘Bespoke’ fees and commissions together with the confirmation of opening your Moneff Account. You have the right to either accept or decline the offer.

Other products and services Services that are not covered in the above table, including the newly introduced Services, will be subject to the Fees and Commissions charged by Moneff when such Services are accessed or ordered".

Common questions

Moneff is an electronic money institution, not a bank. We’re regulated by the UK FCA and Danish FSA, and we work with banks to process payments and keep your money safe.
We currently only offer a Moneff business account. You can use a Moneff business account the same way you’d use a business current account with your bank.
UK registered SMEs, sole traders, freelancers and contractors can apply for a Moneff business account.
We always aim to approve as many as applications as possible. The approval or rejection of any application is based on the policies and processes that are in place at the time of your application.
Some business activities and transaction types are prohibited with Moneff and evidence of business conducted in these areas will result in the rejection of your application or closure of your active Moneff account. The list of prohibited activities and transactions, as per our T&Cs, includes but is not limited to:

- Adult entertainment
- Unlicensed or unregulated gambling, financial services, forex/crypto trading or lotteries
- Weapons (including without limitation, knives, firearms or ammunition)
- Items which pose consumer safety risks (including but not limited to tobacco, e-cigarettes, marijuana, illegal and controlled drugs, unapproved medical devices)
- Any items that promote hate, violence or racial intolerance

We keep your money in special segregated accounts in the UK and the EU/EEA.
